  Device latency calibration

  Measure the output→input round trip of this device with an MLS burst and cross-correlation. Save results for the latency budget.

  Lossless recorder with in-session slates

  One audio session: start slate → count-in + reference → end slate, raw PCM streamed to MinIO in 5 MB parts while recording; the speakers stand in for the player and the recorded clicks must land on the beat after alignment.

  Conductor downlink through LiveKit

  A room publishes a stereo click reference + a canvas conductor cam that flashes on the beat; a player subscribes and measures audio and video delay, jitter buffer and RTT. Open the room in one tab and the player in another (or on another device).

  Mode C UDP spike

  Browser → Node in the pilot region over WebTransport and an unreliable RTCDataChannel; RTT and jitter on real home connections. Network only — the device side of Mode C is the desktop companion.
